This workshop will cover the basics behind the science, technique, upkeep, and overall process of backyard composting. We will discuss strategies for composting in a small urban environment, or with access to more space. Once you have a working compost strategy, eliminating food waste and feeding your garden becomes easy!

This workshop is facilitated by Nathan Lake, Field and Farm Coordinator at the Intervale Center. A decade ago, Nathan began to learn farming at the Green String Institute in California and has been working in agriculture ever since. He aspires to help others to develop relationships with/ learn to grow plants on their own, through projects such as The People’s Farm at the Intervale Center.

This workshop will take place at the Intervale Center which is located at 180 Intervale Road, Burlington VT.
