Improving ecosystems across Vermont

Healthy forests, riparian zones, and hedgerows are essential to a healthy food system. When we plant trees and shrubs along our rivers and streams, we enhance water quality, store carbon, reduce flood impacts, stabilize soils, and create homes for wildlife and important pollinator species.

Over the past three years, the Intervale Conservation Nursery has provided Vermont with 96,000 trees and shrubs and stewarded 400 acres at sites from Health Hero Farm to Bread & Butter Farm. Over the next two years, we will collect 100 million native seeds, propagate 160,000 trees and shrubs, and steward 250 acres of riparian buffers, wetlands, and other land restoration projects.

Together, our work continues. By supporting the Intervale Center, you help us move toward our vision where our ecosystems are healthy.
