Building Climate Resilience Through Forest Restoration

A strong community food system begins with healthy soils and waterways. Since our founding, the Intervale Center has made strides toward climate resilience across Vermont’s natural environment by planting trees (one of the most cost-effective climate mitigation strategies), restoring ecosystems, and stewarding land.

Through this work, we support the establishment of healthy, diverse habitats and counteract some of the impacts of agriculture and development on our natural world, all while advancing our state’s shared goals around soil, water, and land resilience.

Each year, our Conservation Nursery grows and plants tens of thousands of native trees and shrubs throughout our state. That's hundreds of acres of forests rooting down to conserve our natural environment for generations to come.

Now through Mother's Day you can help us grow even more trees! When you  give a gift of $40 or more to the Intervale Center, we will plant a tree in honor of you or a loved one.

The Intervale Center is committed to stewarding our watersheds and developing strategies that enable continued investment in Vermont’s natural environment. Help us plant even more trees for Vermont's ecosystem this year!
