Originally hailing from upstate New York, Sammy’s first job was working farmers markets for a local apple orchard. She has continued to work with and throughout many areas of her local food systems. Since graduating from the University of Vermont in 2016 with a degree in Statistics and Food Systems she has found herself farming vegetables, designing flowers, coordinating food access programs, and working at many local bars and restaurants.
She believes that the act of growing and sharing food together is an important tool in building more resilient communities.
In her free time Sammy enjoys playing with flowers, making pottery, grooving to bluegrass music, and soaking up the sunshine.
