Duncan Murdoch (he/him), Natural Areas Stewardship Coordinator
email | ext. 105

Duncan began his work with the Intervale Center growing and planting native trees in 2015. Born and raised in Vermont, he has a deep appreciation for the land and encourages responsible and meaningful climate action stewardship. As part of our Land Stewardship Team, Duncan is responsible for the management and equitable community access to 360 acres of land that we now steward in Burlington, Vermont. Duncan supports community trail access and stewardship, enhances riparian buffers, diversifies hedgerows in and around farm fields, and works to support overall ecosystem health by balancing community use and recreation, wildlife habitat, ecological function, and agriculture at the Intervale and beyond. In addition to his hands-on work taking care of the land, he is also a certified nature and forest therapy guide and a Nature Connection Coach where he leads forest bathing walks and helps people cultivate a deeper relationship to the natural world.
