Garden like a Farmer: Weed Identification & Uses

  • Intervale Center 180 Intervale Road Burlington, VT, 05401 (map)

Register now!

Weeding the garden is important for ensuring that crops thrive. Many species of common weeds in our gardens may have uses beyond getting our hands dirty! In this workshop we will focus on different weeding strategies, identify edible and medicinal weed species, and get to know the plants we consider weeds but can prove to be as valuable as our garden's vegetables.

This workshop is facilitated by Nathan Lake, Field and Farm Coordinator at the Intervale Center. A decade ago, Nathan began to learn farming at the Green String Institute in California and has been working in agriculture ever since. He aspires to help others to develop relationships with/ learn to grow plants on their own, through projects such as The People’s Farm at the Intervale Center.

This workshop will take place at the Intervale Center: 180 Intervale Road, Burlington VT.

Thanks to our season underwriters, City Market and Gardener’s Supply Company, for making events like these possible!
