As daylight begins to decrease, we turn to bringing in the harvest and celebrating the season. Before we call it quits for the year there are a few more steps we could take to ensure our growing space continues to thrive. In this workshop we will go over some basic strategies for preparing your growing space for the winter months. Things that will be covered are cover cropping strategies, winter food production, and tips to get a jump start on the next growing season.
This workshop is facilitated by Nathan Lake, Field and Farm Coordinator at the Intervale Center. A decade ago, Nathan began to learn farming at the Green String Institute in California and has been working in agriculture ever since. He aspires to help others to develop relationships with/ learn to grow plants on their own, through projects such as The People’s Farm at the Intervale Center.
Thanks to our season underwriters, City Market and Gardener’s Supply Company, for making events like these possible!
