Wintry Fun in the Intervale: Wintervale 2020

We are looking forward to our annual winter celebration: Wintervale! Once again we will be partnering with local businesses and nonprofits to bring free cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and fat biking to the Intervale on Sunday, February 23rd from 11am-2pm.

Wintervale is a family-friendly, outdoor winter festival that celebrates the Intervale’s recreational opportunities. It will take place at Intervale Community Farm at 282 Intervale Road, Burlington, VT. Scheduled activities include free demos of skis, snowshoes, and fat bikes provided by Burlington Parks, Recreation & Waterfront, Skirack, and Catamount Trail Association; hot cocoa taste-testing; sugar on snow with Shelburne Farms; and other wintry activities. Wintervale is sponsored by Skirack, Northfield Savings Bank, MetroRock Climbing Center, and Natural Mattress Company. It is free of charge and open to the public. Donations to support trail maintenance and winter recreation in the Intervale are encouraged. 

“We’re excited for the opportunity to share the Intervale’s amazing year-round recreational opportunities with our community,” said Travis Marcotte, executive director of the Intervale Center. “Wintervale is such a fun annual event, and we are grateful to our partners for helping make it happen.”

Wintervale features over three miles of cross-country ski trails that are stewarded by the Intervale Center Land Stewardship staff with support from Intervale Community Farm and Burlington Parks, Recreation & Waterfront.  An estimated 3,000 users visited Intervale cross-country ski trails during the 2018/2019 season.
