Originally from Central Vermont, April developed an early appreciation for the outdoors and growing food. After graduating from SUNY Purchase with a degree in Biology she got involved in urban agriculture and farm-based education in Brooklyn, NY. This work led to her decision to pursue a master's degree in food systems which she completed at the University of Vermont. She is deeply passionate about increasing community access to healthy food, connecting folks to place through education and storytelling, and working to build equity and resiliency into our state and regional food systems. In her free time she enjoys walking in the woods with her pup Maple, singing in a local community group, and reading.
